“Disiecta Membra”: trasformare ciascuno in una creazione artistica, dare la possibilità a chiunque di diventare immortale, di tramandare qualcosa di sé per non essere dimenticati.
200 persone, 400 scatti per fermare un’immagine, un tempo, un ricordo: un tempo destinato a passare, un’immagine che cambierà e una ciocca di capelli che rimarrà a testimonianza del presente e di ciò che è stato.
Non è santi cazione della persona, ma un richiamo all’eternità: la persona è fotografata, l’immagine è congelata, la data di nascita attesta un tempo ed un inizio. La ciocca di capelli ne conferma la veridicità e rimarrà a testimonianza nei secoli che il soggetto è reale, ha vissuto, pensato, ha lasciato una impronta sulla terra.
La scritta “VIVENTE” attesta che nel fare artistico si diventa immortali, proprio come è immortale l’uomo che entra a far parte della camera dei ricordi.

The idea of the installation “Disiecta Membra” comes from the end of an artisic cycle lasting 10 years. Gaetano Cammarata chooses to transform each one in an artistic creation, to give the possibility to whoever of becoming immortal, to transmit something of himself so to not be forgotten. Until now, two hundred people have been immortalized by participating in the piece. Four hundred snaps to stop an image, an age, a souvenir. A time destined to pass, an image that will not change, and a lock of hair remaining to testify the presence of who was there. It’s not sanctification of a person, but a cry to eternity: the person is photographed, the image is frozen, the date of birth is attested, a time, a start. The lock of hair confirms that to be true and it will stand a witness to the centuries that the photographed person is real, has lived, thought, left an imprint on earth. It’s an inscription: “alive.” Because in art, we are all alive just as those who have preceded us, and that we rediscover in the rooms of relics from where this installation got started. “Disiecta Membra” is a glance at eternity.
